Meantime

In the Meantime series, a dialogue between two moments in time materialises within a single space, merging temporal fragments that, under normal conditions, would never have met. The technique used allows this impossible coexistence through a process of cyanotype emulsion on a negative. Instead of revealing the image traditionally, the procedure creates a visual assemblage in which the layers overlap without ever reaching a definitive positive. Even when the tones are inverted, one of the images remains negative, as if two parallel realities hint at each other through the flash of light from a different time.

This play of absences and presences evokes 19th-century photographic montages that aimed to capture spectres and ectoplasms, optical illusions that suggested the possibility of seeing the invisible. In Meantime, memory splits into planes that coexist without ever reconciling, revealing the impossibility of fully grasping reality. Each image becomes a threshold, an echo of what was and what will never be entirely visible. Time folds in on itself, manipulable and elusive, a malleable territory where new spaces of interpretation and wonder can be created.
