Simultaneously

Simultaneously proposes a dialogue between two distant moments that coexist within the same physical space, creating a web of interlinked memories that challenge the linearity of time and reframe remembrance as a space of multiple dimensions. Every memory is composed of the layering of its many versions. Through the superimposition of negatives and portraits, each piece constructs a visual interplay in which the images interact and alter one another, revealing a double temporal layer that reflects the fragmented and elusive nature of memory. This temporal sandwich makes visible the coexistence of distinct past realities, inviting the viewer to confront the idea that the past never presents itself in a singular form, but always emerges incomplete and in constant flux.

The technique employed, in which one image remains in negative while the other is printed as a positive, reinforces the notion of inaccessibility. What is shown is never absolute: a part of the memory remains veiled, hidden in that inverted layer that resists full revelation. In this gesture, Simultaneously explores the limits of visual representation and underscores the impossibility of fixing memory in its entirety. The work suggests that memory, much like the photographic image, is not a static reflection but a perpetually unfinished process, a fleeting and mutable construction that evades complete capture.
