Memory Gap
Memory Gap explores memory voids as active spaces rather than mere absences. The series begins with the idea that these gaps not only reflect what we have forgotten, but also reveal our need to complete, reinterpret or reinvent what we can no longer clearly recall. From this perspective, forgetting is not seen as a loss, but as an opportunity to construct personal narratives that give rise to new meanings.
Rather than an inventory of past events, memory is understood here as something alive, a subjective construction shaped by emotion, time and our own sensitivity. We remember by association, distortion, intuition. And in that process, we also reinvent ourselves. This series fills those voids using symbolic fragments, exploring how the memories of others or found images can generate a new intimacy within us.
Memory Gap functions as a bridge, integrating elements from other series that lend a new dimension to the visual through the plastic. Using different materials, the work highlights the timelessness of gesture and narrative, building a self-referential dialogue with the visual language itself. These photographs do not seek to complete what is missing, but to signal what cannot be seen, what can only just be sensed. In those margins lies the possibility of resignifying what is absent and turning the fragility of memory into a space for reflection.
