On Blank / On Black

On Blank_On Black addresses the loss of memory through photographic materiality, exploring how light , the origin of all image – can also become its erasure. When light spills over or leaks uncontrollably into the camera or darkroom, it ceases to be an instrument of revelation and becomes instead an agent of forgetting.

The project explores the fragility of images that exist on that unstable boundary between presence and disappearance, offering a visual poetics in which photography no longer represents, but survives as trace,  as the imprint of interrupted time.

The images appear in both negative and positive forms, revealing different aspects of their chaotic decomposition. At times they are stains, luminous residues that erase a landscape or figure by excess light or a veil of shadow. Rather than capturing lived moments, these works evoke suspended time, an altered memory that echoes the diffuse mechanisms of remembrance.

They are surfaces in tension, open to the emotional projection of the viewer. In them, forgetting is not absence, but matter. And what remains unseen still holds its full power to move us.
