Unchained Memories / Falling Down

“Unchained Memories” is a series of works that employ analog photographic processes—such as liquid emulsion, image transfer, and cyanotype—incorporating painterly interventions or collage, as well as paintings and photographic interventions.

These works explore the nature of memories—their recording, their manipulation, and their more enigmatic, hidden aspects—through various perspectives and techniques.

Using vintage, anonymous photographic material, the images are manipulated and recontextualized, imbuing them with new meaning by blending reflection and emotion.

Based on the premise that photography represents “time and memory” while painting embodies “space and emotion,” the fusion of these two modes of expression serves to multiply their expressive potential.

The goal is to awaken latent memories and emotions, inviting us to reflect on who we are and how we have been shaped—in other words, on the role that memories play in our lives.

“Falling Down” is a sub-series within this body of work, featuring images of people who are falling, jumping, or on the verge of doing so.
