ReVers B Series

The ReVers series begins with the backs of old photographs to explore what remains unseen, what lies outside the frame or beyond memory. The project centres on the idea of “the other side”, present in images, in people, and in memory itself, to recontextualise found materials and reflect on the fragility of what is visible and the uncertain construction of identity.

The backs of these images, torn from albums, bear marks, inscriptions, stains or traces of adhesive that act as surfaces charged with time. Upon them, a new image is revealed in the darkroom: portraits taken from behind, figures that never fully show themselves or appear in moments of introspection. One reverse layered upon another.

The project thus offers a reflection on the impossibility of remembering an image in its entirety. Hidden faces and torn fragments evoke a memory composed of signs left by others. In this way, the image emerges on a surface of traces and silences, capable of creating a landscape of bodies who, like us, gaze towards a vanishing horizon.
