Delusion_Transfer Series
"We are permanently linked to screens: hypnotic and changing surfaces that want to "inform" and entertain us, although some also allow us to do this function, interactively.
I choose to decontextualize a fragment (moment) of the program's images and highlight this manipulation, the illusory and illusionistic part of what comes to us with often disguised but never neutral intentions.
The fascination and the need created by this dependence, leads me to question its background and to distance myself, to adopt a different angle of observation, canceling the original message factor, and looking for a new one, plastically emotional, deconstructor and explorer of interesting plastic effects even in dramatic reports.
The fragmentation or repetition, by moving the camera, of the documentary images on an old television set, the evidence of their formation based on lines and dots of basic colors, distorts and clouds my perception of the message, and I it makes me realize how little difference there really is between my confused image and the one that comes to us, also interpreted, filtered and framed according to certain criteria.
I end up using the device as a producer of meaningless primary images, to which I can give a new one, plastic and liberating, taking advantage of the suggestive analog characteristics of the device and emotional pictorial effects of the reinterpreted image.
The resulting images have no further manipulation beyond that obtained by the camera"
(from the "Delusion" project)
In this variant, the images of "Delusion" are transferred to a rough paper that makes them lose definition, and I incorporate a materially "real" pictorial intervention
