Disclosed_Memory I Series
Disclosed Memory begins with old photographic negatives recovered from oblivion, contact-printed onto the opened interior of medication boxes for Alzheimer’s. These boxes are both symbol and support of the deterioration of our memory, and the act of opening them becomes a way of summoning what lies dormant, of reanimating what once seemed lost.
Each piece combines the lightness of those rescued images with interventions made from objects, textures, reliefs or traces that dialogue with the photographic. The deep and variable blue of cyanotype introduces an emotional distance — a poetic and tactile form that separates the memory from its invocation and quietly reveals the impossibility of fully retrieving what has faded away.
The selection of negatives follows an affective rather than narrative logic: they are chosen for their ability to generate resonance, for that punctum that makes the image vibrate. Rather than reconstructing the past, the project proposes an intimate relationship with absence. Each piece acts as a threshold through which memory—one’s own or another’s—reactivates itself through light, matter and contemplation: a trace of the past with a vocation for the future.
